The geologist Harry Hess used the word “geopoetry” in 1962 to describe the overarching themes of plate tectonics, which was just getting a foothold back then. It was a grand unifying theory for the geosciences. This website is about bringing geopoetry to everything else geological.
Greg Brick, Ph.D., has been into geology since 1981, when he became interested in some British caves while on a holiday in Wales. Thereafter, his travel was geology themed. His interest in geology came from his interest in exploring caves. His published books include IOWA UNDERGROUND (2004) and SUBTERRANEAN TWIN CITIES (2009).
